Camera Diagnostics, Session Packages & Export Pipeline
Camera & Audio Diagnostics
Camera Info Sheet — Every camera now has an info button showing full diagnostics: device details, transport type, USB speed detection, cable bottleneck warnings, and a complete format catalog with bandwidth feasibility indicators
Audio Info Sheet — Microphones get the same diagnostics treatment: channel layout, transport type, native format details, latency breakdown with quality badges, and supported sample rates
Clipboard Export — One-click "Copy Report" button exports the full diagnostics summary as plain text
Full-Resolution Capture — Cameras now record at their full native resolution instead of being capped at 1080p
Per-Camera FPS Respected — Frame rate selection is honored during recording — 4K cameras that support 4K at 30fps no longer fall back to 1080p at 60fps
macOS Format Lock — Fixed a macOS-specific issue where AVCaptureSession silently overrode the device's configured format back to 1920x1080
Stable 60fps Multi-Source — Standard mode now records display + window/app sources much more reliably at 60 fps, with reduced encoder backpressure stalls
Higher-Priority Video Writing — Video writing uses higher-priority scheduling and non-blocking readiness retry behavior
Optimized Capture Routing — Screen capture routing avoids extra work on the hot path, reducing recording overhead
Better Default Bitrates — Default H.264 / HEVC screen capture bitrates are better tuned for screen content instead of camera-style footage
Arrow-to-Shape Connections — Arrows snap to shapes and stay connected when shapes move or resize. Manually bent arrows preserve their bends. Reconnect by dragging endpoints to different shapes
Elbow Arrows — Excalidraw-style right-angle arrows with A* pathfinding, obstacle avoidance, heading-aware routing, multiple bends, draggable segments, fixed segments, smooth corners, and live re-routing
Shape Fill — Three fill modes for all shapes: None (outline only), Semi (30% opacity fill), and Solid. Separate fill color picker for independent stroke and fill colors
Expanded Color Palette — 11 colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Teal, Blue, Purple, Pink, White, Gray, and Black. Available for both stroke and fill colors in a compact 6-column grid popover
Screen Annotation — Draw directly on your screen during recordings. 9 tools: Pen, Highlighter, Arrow, Line, Rectangle, Ellipse, Text, Eraser, and Laser Pointer (fades after 2s). Floating toolbar with keyboard shortcuts, 5-color palette, line width slider, undo/redo, and a record overlay toggle. Whiteboard mode (press W) gives you a clean canvas with 4 background patterns (Blank, Dots, Grid, Lines). Works across multiple displays and during active recordings via ScreenCaptureKit
Cursor Highlight — A visual highlight follows your cursor during recordings and presentations. 4 shapes: Ring, Filled, Squircle, and Rhombus. Click animations for left click (scale) and right click (flash). Customizable size, color, opacity, and border width in Settings > Presentation
Spotlight — A dim overlay covers the screen with a bright circular cutout following your cursor to focus viewer attention. Adjustable size, dim intensity, edge softness, and follow speed (Instant or Smooth). Works across multiple displays
Menu Bar Status Item — New menu bar icon with recording state indicators (idle, recording, paused, countdown) and elapsed time. Dropdown menu for Start/Pause/Resume/Stop Recording, Show Lumary, and Quit
Teleprompter Hotkeys — New global hotkeys for Play/Pause, Reset to Top, Speed Up, and Speed Down (configurable in Settings > Shortcuts)
On-Device Whisper Transcription — Transcription now powered by OpenAI Whisper running entirely on-device via Apple Neural Engine, replacing Apple Speech for dramatically better accuracy. Choose from 4 model sizes (Tiny ~75 MB, Base ~150 MB, Small ~500 MB, Large v3 ~3 GB), download on demand from Settings, and switch or delete models with one click. 26 languages with auto-detect, real-time download progress with cancel support, and auto-transcribe after recording with live progress in the session list. No audio data ever leaves your Mac
Window-Level Capture — The "Apps" capture mode now shows individual windows instead of whole apps. Select specific windows to record — pick two Chrome windows and each gets its own output file. Windows listed from all Dock-visible apps across all displays, with a refresh button and hover-to-highlight preview
Multi-Source Standard Mode — Standard mode now supports recording multiple sources simultaneously, previously only available in composite mode
Camera + Microphone Pairing — Pair a camera with a specific microphone to combine video and audio into a single file. Useful for external cameras with dedicated mics
Stream Deck Live Timer — The Stream Deck record button now shows a live recording timer that updates every second, so you always know how long you've been recording
Virtual Teleprompter — Read your script while recording without breaking eye contact with the camera. Includes a floating overlay, multi-script editor, and hardware control via Stream Deck
Floating Overlay — Transparent, always-on-top panel with smooth auto-scrolling, adjustable speed (1-50), reading line indicator, and snap-to-center positioning. Never appears in captures
Multi-Script Editor — Create and manage multiple scripts with instant switching, a dedicated editor window with live preview, and cross-session persistence
Scroll Control — Play, pause, and stop scrolling with on-the-fly speed adjustment, manual scroll support, and auto-loop for continuous playback
Stream Deck Teleprompter Actions — Five new actions for hardware control: Teleprompter (play/pause/stop/toggle), Speed (up/down), Overlay (show/hide/toggle/snap), Editor (open/close), and Script (next/previous/select by name)
